Dengan munculnya virus misterius yang membunuh semua orang yang berusia di atas 13 tahun, umat manusia diperbudak oleh vampir yang sebelumnya tersembunyi dan haus kekuasaan yang muncul untuk menaklukkan masyarakat dengan janji melindungi para penyintas, dengan imbalan sumbangan darah mereka. Di antara mereka yang selamat adalah Yuuichirou dan Mikaela Hyakuya, dua anak laki-laki yang ditawan dari panti asuhan, bersama dengan anak-anak lain yang mereka anggap sebagai keluarga. Owari no Seraph adalah anime shounen supernatural pasca-apokaliptik yang mengikuti pencarian seorang pria muda untuk mendapatkan pembalasan, sambil berjuang untuk persahabatan dan kesetiaan melawan rintangan yang tampaknya mustahil.
