The "Labyrinth" adalah ruang luas jauh di bawah tanah di mana manusia hidup dalam kelompok yang dikenal sebagai "koloni." Selama bertahun-tahun, permukaan telah menjadi kenangan yang jauh—bahkan mungkin hanya fantasi bagi mereka yang belum pernah mengalami keajaibannya. Memastikan umat manusia bertahan dalam kondisi keras bawah tanah, warga koloni dapat melakukan berbagai pekerjaan khusus. Terlebih lagi, kaijuu yang cukup besar dapat memaksa masuk ke koloni, semakin meningkatkan tingkat ancaman mereka. Memenpu adalah lulusan perguruan tinggi berusia sembilan tahun yang penemuannya sangat bermanfaat bagi Pekerja di koloni lokalnya. Namun, baru-baru ini, dia memimpikan sebuah tempat dengan langit-langit tak berujung yang tidak dibatasi oleh batuan dasar. Aspirasi ini memicu keinginannya untuk menjadi Penanda dan menjelajahi Labirin yang tidak diketahui luasnya untuk mencari tempat yang begitu fantastis. Terlepas dari ketidaksepakatan keras ayahnya, Gagumber, insiden tertentu dengan kaijuu memulai petualangan berbahaya namun mengasyikkan yang pasti akan mengubah arah umat manusia selamanya.

Definition
